Fashion design is the art of the application of design and aesthetics or natural beauty to clothing and accessories. They attempt to satisfy consumer desire for aesthetically designed clothing, and, because of the time required to bring a garment onto the market, must at times anticipate changing consumer tastes.

Fashion designers attempt to design clothes that are functional as well as aesthetically. They must consider who will wear the clothes and the situation where it will be used. They have a wide range and combinations of materials to work with and a variety of colors, patterns and styles to choose from. Though most clothing worn for everyday wear are in a narrow range of conventional styles, unusual garments are usually sought for special occasions, such as evening wear or party dresses.

Fashion design can be divided by 2 is the design structure (structural design) and design decoration (decorative design).

1. Design Structures (Structural Design)

2. Ornamental Designs (Decorative Design)

Ornate designs on the clothing has a goal to add to the beauty of the design of the structure or silhouette. Ornate designs can be a collar, pockets, lace, embroidery, decorative buttons, buses and others.

Ornate designs must meet the following conditions, namely:

a. Ornaments should be used to a limited extent or not excessive.
